Kalpana Chawla (1962–2003) was an astronaut and engineer who became the first woman of Indian origin to go to space. She flew on two NASA missions, including the Space Shuttle Columbia in 1997 and its ill-fated STS-107 mission in 2003.

Known for her courage, dedication, and passion for space exploration, Kalpana inspired millions across the globe to follow their dreams regardless of obstacles.
